Most fans of metal and hardcore music will know the Peavey 6505 amplifier at first glance. Initially released under the direction and endorsement of Eddie Van Halen under the 5150 name, the 6505’s name is derived from Peavey’s at the time 40 years in production (1965-2005). The 6505 has tons of gain on tap, with a saturated, spongy response delivered by a quartet of 6LC power tubes.
