Fender American Vintage II 1966 Jazz Bass, Lefty, Rosewood, Sea Foam Green
Fender’s American Vintage II Series is a meticulously designed collection of period-correct electric guitars and basses. Each model is carefully chosen and recreated based on its contribution to the Fender story of that year. All models feature year specific bodies, necks, hardware, finishes, and pickups. American Vintage II is the most accurate production series of legacy instruments across the timeline of Fender history.
The Jazz Bass was born from a Fender Salesman’s suggestion for a top-shelf bass guitar model to be added to the line. While it features the same 34” scale as the Precision Bass, the 1.50” nut is dramatically thinner than the P-Bass for fast easy playing. The American Vintage II 1966 Jazz Bass is a period accurate recreation of the this highly sought-after year of the J-Bass. The 1966 “U” profile neck, with that thin nut width and 7.25” fingerboard radius is effortless to play. The round-lam rosewood fingerboard is wrapped in a single ply white binding and marked with white pearloid dots.
The AVII ’66 J Bass sports two Pure Vintage ’66 Single Coil pickups, one in the middle and one in the bridge position. They are controlled with independent volume pots and a single master tone. Hardware consists of a 4-saddle bridge, Pure Vintage ‘Lollipop’ tuning machines, vintage style disc string tree, and a serialized 4-bolt “F” logo neck plate. Finishes are nitrocellulose gloss with custom colors getting a matching painted headcap, while burst models get a clear nitro headcap.
Vintage-style black with orange interior hardshell case is included.
