Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition ’61 Telecaster Relic, Aged Champagne Sparkle
The Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition ’61 Telecaster Relic, Aged Champagne Sparkle showcases the Fender Custom Shops uncanny ability to split the lane between overstated “look at me” with tried-and-true build quality and details. The guitar features an alder body with a 5/4 quarter-sawn maple neck topped with a AAA Rosewood board. The board is flat lam and pre-sorted for dark color at the factory with a modern 9.5″ radius and loaded with 6105 narrow-tall frets. The neck profile is a 60-style oval “C” shape with a thickness that ranges from .790 to .930 inches. The guitar’s scale length is 25.5 inches, and it comes with vintage-style tuning machines with a Fender logo and a 1.650-inch bone nut.
The Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition ’61 Telecaster Relic, Aged Champagne Sparkle comes with a hand-wound OBG bridge pickup and a hand-wound twisted tele neck pickup, providing the classic Telecaster tone with added versatility. The guitar’s controls are modern Tele with a Greasebucket tone circuit which allows the guitar to retain its high end with a volume roll off. This is especially useful for those that use their guitar volume in conjunction with their amps and effects.Â
The guitar is finished in an aged champagne sparkle nitrocellulose lacquer which pairs perfectly with the Relic aging level. You can see the nicks and dings, with some natural looking wear down to the wood in key spots.Â
This Fender Custom Shop Telecaster weighs 7lbs 4.5oz, making it an especially comfortable Telecaster to play all night long. Ships complete with a brown hardshell Fender Custom Shop Case.Â
