Fender Custom Shop ’52 Telecaster Electric Guitar, Deluxe Closet Classic, Nocaster Blonde
The legacy of the Telecaster is a storied one, and the Fender Custom Shop Telecaster in Deluxe Closet Classic pays a nod to the past of this instrument while also offering performance features that contemporary players can appreciate.Â
This Fender Custom Shop ’52 Telecaster boasts a body cut from 2-piece ash, sorted for its light weight by the Fender Custom Shop. The body is cut to a ’52 Tele profile, and attached to it, a rift-sawn maple neck is carved to ’57-style Soft “V” profile. The fingerboard features a cozy, compound radius ranging from 7.25″ to 9.5″, and is topped with 22 Narrow-Tall frets, and Micarta Black inlays.Â
This gorgeous Tele comes stocked with FCS recreations of the iconic 1950-1951 era Blackguard Telecaster pickups in the bridge and neck positions, both delivering vintage-inspired, classic Telecaster twang.Â
The finish of this guitar, a “Deluxe Closet Classic”, lives somewhere on the Fender Custom Shop relic spectrum between a NOS treatment, and a Closet Classic. The body is in pristine condition, emulating an instrument that was taken care of beautifully by its owner, but with small amounts of aging on the body, including very faint checking, and a touch of natural oxidation on its hardware. Its Nocaster Blonde finish is a nod to its origins and makes for a guitar that looks the part, as much as it sounds the part.
