Martin 000-28 Acoustic Guitar, Sunburst w/Hardshell Case
Decked in a shady sunburst finish and carrying with it generations of fine design, this Martin 000-28 acoustic guitar is a knockout of an instrument. As is the case with many Martin acoustic guitars, this entry to the legendary line is musically a standout while retaining that undeniable mark of Martin quality.
This Martin 000-28 is constructed with solid Sitka spruce top and solid East Indian rosewood back and sides in a 000-14 Fret shape. A classic combination of woods, this pair plays with a stellar acoustic voice perfect for any player to really get inspired and creative with. The overall voice of this acoustic is enhanced by a Standard “X” bracing pattern. Lined with solid Sitka spruce braces, the Sitka spruce top of this guitar contributes projection and balance to liven the acoustic output and make for a more colorful palette of sounds.
Across the body, a polished gloss finish appears to deliver a smooth texture and a dazzling aesthetic. This finish is complemented by top and back inlays in black and white Boltaron. Accentuating the rounded edges of this 000-28 while creating a highlight through its shaded sections, Boltaron also appears in a white binding pattern. A Style 28 rosette rounds the soundhole while Style 28 back purfling adds a visual, geometric highlight to the dark East Indian rosewood.
The neck on this 000-28 is formed from select hardwood. Coming together with the body with a dovetail neck joint design, this neck takes a Low Profile shape. In hand, this neck fills a nice grip and slides easily across the palm with a satin finish. A solid black ebony fingerboard appears with this hardwood neck and bears twenty frets. The combination of hardwood and ebony offers a satisfying playing experience in the left hand. At its bone nut, the fingerboard measures 1.6875″ wide. At its twelfth fret, the fingerboard measures 2.125″ wide.
With its many fine materials and great playability, this Martin model goes even further on a number of close specifications. A belly-style solid black ebony bridge lands at the base of the scale to ground strings stably across a 16″-radius compensated bone saddle. Chrome enclosed tuning machines with Large buttons line a square taper headstock bearing a solid East Indian rosewood headplate with raised gold foil lettering. Finally, this acoustic travels in style with a 630 Molded hardshell case for complete comfort and security. Totally, this Martin is an excellent example of the classic American name in action.
As a piece from Martin, it’s easy to get blown away by elements big and small. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, rather, let’s take this acoustic in as an absolute stunner of an instrument for anyone to enjoy.
