1963 Fender Super Reverb Guitar Combo Tube Amplifier
***Due to its size and weight, this item is for local pickup only***
This Fender Super Reverb is a well preserved AA763 circuit dating to November of 1963. Fenders new design of an all black tolex cabinet with a silver grill cloth was the next outfit in their line of amplifiers after the Blonde tolex models from 1961-1964. This series of black panel amplifiers would be the first amps that Fender made that included their coveted spring reverb tank.
This amp features all 4 original 10″ Jensen Special Design ceramic speakers plus a very rare Brown era 2 button footswitch. This amplifier has had a few coupling capacitors replaced with modern Sprague Orange drop capacitors and some resistors have been also changed. A few of the blue Mallory molded capacitors are in tact and have plenty of life left. All 5 electrolytic capacitors have also been replaced with modern Sprague Atom’s.
Both the output transformer and power transformer date to 1963 as well as the choke. All of the tube shields are in good shape and retain their springs. A 3 prong cord has been installed to help bring it to up to modern standard.
This 1963 Fender Super Reverb is in excellent condition. The tolex is in great shape and only shows a few small tears above the chasis on the backside. The hardware has very nice patina with no signs of rust and the grill cloth has aged to a nice golden brown with no tears. The tube chart is in fairly good shape but a small piece has was torn off at some point and isn’t 100% readable.
