Epiphone Mastertone Bowtie Open Back Banjo w/Premium Gigbag, Natural
Part of the Inspired by Gibson series, this Epiphone Mastertone Bowtie Open Back Banjo is a stunning folk instrument inspired by the iconic Gibson Mastertone models of the mid-20th century. With its timeless “Bowtie” cosmetics reminiscent of the 1950s and 1960s, this banjo combines vintage style with modern craftsmanship to deliver quality at an accessible price point.Â
Built to be used with both clawhammer/frailing and Scruggs style playing, the Epiphone Mastertone Bowtie Open Back Banjo is designed with an 11-inch layered mahogany rim paired with a simple hoop tone ring. Controlling head tension, a notched nickel tension hoop features 24 nickel adjustable hooks.
One of the standout features of the Epiphone Mastertone Bowtie Banjo is its 26.4″ scale length satin-finished mahogany neck, designed for comfort and playability. This neck boasts the iconic Gibson “scroll-style” headstock topped with a Mother-of-Pearl Epiphone logo and Gibson Crown inlays. On the neck, a bound laurel fretboard features 22 frets and more Mother-of-Pearl inlays, this time in Bowtie form, paying homage to the banjo’s heritage.
The Mastertone Bowtie Banjo is equipped with a premium 11″ Remo Fiberskyn head that enhances mid and low-range resonance and projection. For added convenience and protection, each Epiphone Mastertone Bowtie Banjo comes with a premium gig bag.
