Fender American Vintage II 1957 Stratocaster Electric Guitar, Lefty, Vintage Blonde
Fender’s American Vintage II Series is a meticulously designed collection of period-correct electric guitars and basses. Each model is carefully chosen and recreated based on its contribution to the Fender story of that year. All models feature year specific bodies, necks, hardware, finishes, and pickups. American Vintage II is the most accurate production series of legacy instruments across the timeline of Fender history.
1957 was an undeniably landmark year for the Stratocaster and Fender celebrates that with the American Vintage II 1957 Strat. The Strat switched to alder as a body wood in mid-1956, making ’57 the first full production year of the alder body. Both the Sea Foam Green model, and the Two-Tone Sunburst model feature that alder body while this Vintage Blonde model still retains an Ash body, allowing that grain to show through on the translucent white finish.
Perhaps most notable about the ’57 is the “V”-shaped neck profile, which is by far one of our most requested Fender Custom Shop build neck profiles. Coupled with the maple 7.25” radius fingerboard, this is the quintessential ’57 Strat feel. Other year correct details include a 4-bolt neck plate, heel adjust truss rod, “Fender Deluxe” tuning machines, and the Pure Vintage tremolo bridge with bent steel saddles.
3 Single Coil 57 Stratocaster pickups are controlled with 1 master volume and 2 tone pots. The first tone controls the neck and middle pickups, while the last tone controls the bridge pickup alone. 5-way blade switching controls pickup selection.
Tweed hardshell case with crushed red interior is included.
