Fender Custom Shop ’52 Telecaster Relic, Maple Fingerboard, Copper
Fresh from the Fender Custom Shop comes another expertly designed and crafted guitar, this time in the form of a ’52 Telecaster Relic. Its two-piece alder body houses a ’51 Nocaster bridge pickup, and a custom P-90 in the neck position. Although not the typical Tele pickup combination, traditional tones are easy to achieve, and new tones are exciting to stumble upon. There are options for “twang” both thick and thin all within your fingertips, depending on your string attack and how you utilize the volume and tone controls. The all-too-comfortable ’52 Style “U” shaped neck is an impressive specimen of quarter sawn maple that can suit any type of playing style you choose to use it for. The factory-aged copper finish makes this guitar look as if its DNA were cloned from an actual 50’s Telecaster, and the feel of that wear further justifies every bit of detail put into this guitar.
