The Fender Highway Series Dreadnought offers a distinctive twist on the classic acoustic design. It showcases an ergonomic and quality-driven approach to acoustic guitar craftsmanship, along with cutting-edge technology for live performances.
This guitar features a Dreadnought body style with a 2.25″ depth, with this design echoing the aesthetics of Fender’s King acoustic and the King Vintage reissue. It is comprised of a solid Sitka spruce top with chambered mahogany back and sides. This tried and true tonewood combination delivers a sonic character with the spruce contributing to a brighter and more articulate sound while retaining the warmth and depth associated with mahogany.
Inside, the guitar incorporates Tapered Floating X bracing to ensure structural stability while optimizing the resonance of the solid spruce top. A polyester satin matte finish complements the body, enhancing both its appearance and sound.
The Highway Series Dreadnought is equipped with an all-analog Fishman Fluence acoustic pickup system. Controls for volume and contour are conveniently located on the guitar’s top, ensuring easy access during performances. The Fishman Fluence Core pickup is designed to faithfully replicate pure acoustic tone and vibrant resonance, making it an excellent choice for those seeking an authentic acoustic-electric experience.
A satin-finished “C” shape mahogany neck is featured on the Highway Series Dreadnought, paired with a rosewood fingerboard and a 6-in-line California-style headstock and Fender Classic Gear tuners. These tuning machines evoke a vintage Fender electric guitar feel and provide modern reliability with secure hex screw installation.
Additional features include chrome hardware, the Fender Modern Viking bridge, and bolt-on construction. Out of the factory, this model comes strung with Fender Dura-Tone 860CL Coated Phosphor Bronze strings with .011-.052 gauges. A Fender Deluxe 1225 gig bag is included for safe and convenient transport.
