The new formula of the Mahogany Blacktop starts with the replacement of classic Stratocaster single-coils pickups with two alnico humbucking pickups to give the instrument an overall new voice and tone. The humbucking pickups allow players to tap into an array of tones to accommodate a wide range of musical styles, from rock to jazz. Further features of the Mahogany Blacktop Stratocaster include a 9.5”-radius pau ferro fingerboard for comfortable trips up and down the thick “C”-shaped neck. Along with a streamlined neck design, the Mahogany Blacktop incorporates a vintage-style 6-screw Synchronized Tremolo for expressive bends in playing. A black headstock and black witch-hat knobs complement the crimson red finish to complete an instrument that impresses visually and audibly.
