Gibson Acoustic Custom Shop 1936 Advanced Jumbo, Vintage Sunburst Guitar
Gibson’s mid-’30s series of “advanced” instruments was crafted to combat a period of low cultural optimism. At a time where the social spirit was less than stellar, Gibson’s attempt to revitalize a national musical landscape came through with a number of instruments. One of those instruments comes alive with this model – the 1936 Advanced Jumbo. Originally produced in small numbers in the 1930s, this Gibson Acoustic Custom Shop revival shares the prestige of the original instruments with the players of today. The 1936 Advanced Jumbo is constructed with a Thermally Aged Adirondack spruce top and rosewood back and sides. This tonewood combination produces authentic Gibson tones for players of any era. The mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard fit firmly and effortlessly in hand for a comfortable playing experience. Adorned with Mother-of-pearl Diamond and Arrow fret inlays and equipped with Waverly tuning machines, this guitar is beautifully appointed and prepared for long playing sessions. This 1930s love letter of an instrument goes out to fans of Gibson history and players of any generation.
