Gibson SJ-200 Studio Rosewood, Antique Natural Finish, Acoustic Guitar
The Gibson Super Jumbo has been known as the King of the Flattops since its introduction in 1937. The Gibson SJ-200 Studio Rosewood combines the Super Jumbo body shape with player focused design changes to increase the playability and comfort of the instrument. The solid Sitka Spruce top is paired with Indian Rosewood for the back and sides. For this Studio version of the instrument Gibson has slimmed the body depth to make the instrument more comfortable to play without sacrificing the SJ tone we know and love. For some, the large bout and deep body may have been a deterrent in the past, but this model seeks to increase accessibility for all. Those same players should enjoy the Advanced Response neck profile which is slim and comfortable to play for long periods of time.
Aesthetically the SJ-200 looks the part with the mustache bridge and crown fingerboard inlays. The headstock features a gold Gibson logo, Studio truss rod cover and a gold crown. The large SJ style pickguard is un-adorned. Binding wraps the top and back while the neck is unbound.
This guitar features a Tusq nut and saddle for tuning stability and sonic transfer to the undersaddle piezo pickup. The pickup is controlled via discreet soundhole mount setup. Tuning machines are Grover Rotomatics.
The Gibson SJ-200 Studio ships with a Gibson hardshell case.
