Ibanez Iron Label RG Baritone Electric Guitar, Black Flat
Ibanez’s Iron Label Series was created with specs and design geared toward catering specifically to metal musicians, and the RG Baritone Electric Guitar is a product of the company’s desire to allow metal-heads to achieve the same low-tuned greatness that’s been utilized by musicians all the way from the Beach Boys to Metallica.
The Iron Label RG Baritone features a Nyatoh, wing-styled body, immediately offering an appearance that suits the genre well, while also boasting a resonance that is much needed to allow the lower voicing of this instrument to be heard freely. The body is attached to its neck with a neck-thru design.
This Iron Label beast also features a 5-piece maple/walnut Wizard III Baritone style neck, known to be one of the fastest playing necks in all of the Ibanez arsenal. With a 24-fret ebony fingerboard that boasts a flatter 15.75″ radius, jumbo frets make accuracy simpler and also allow frets to be felt more easily under the thick, lower strings this guitar will inevitably host. The neck boasts long 28″ scale length, ensuring ample space to Djent.
Under its hood, the Iron Label RG Baritone sports two DiMarzio D Activator humbucking pickups. Engineered specifically for high-octane performance, these pickups produce a wide, crisp, and articulate tone that allows this instrument to perform at even the highest levels of gain. Designed to combat the drawbacks of most active pickups, the D Activators offer tons of headroom and balanced volume between the neck and bridge positions. Seamless switching is not only easy, but encouraged, by controls featuring a Master Volume and Master Tone, as well as a 3-way pickup selector switch.
Adding to the guitar’s tailored performance, is the fixed Mono-rail bridge. This bridge design makes sure your tuning is rock-solid, making the Iron Label RG Baritone ideal for various baritone tunings. The Mono-rail construction not only enhances sustain, but it also contributes to a fatter overall tone by transferring string energy to the guitar’s body while playing.
Finished in a flat black with sleek black hardware that accentuates the guitar’s black-on-black appearance, Ibanez makes it clear where the Iron Label RG Baritone should be played, and does it with style.
