Ibanez self-describes their Prestige Series as a fusion of Japanese craftsmanship and American inspiration, and this RG652AHM Prestige is the embodiment of just that. Each guitar in this lineup offers a technical precision in craftsmanship, combined with a contemporary playability that makes these instruments a top choice in the Ibanez arsenal.
The foundation of this Ibanez RG Prestige is its ash body. Boasting the original RG Prestige shape, the top of this guitar is finished with a unique Green Nebula Burst transparent gloss that showcases the ash grain on the entirety of the body. The body is also host to a string-through design, fed through a locking bridge.
An ergonomic Super Wizard HP neck profile makes this Ibanez RG Prestige a top tier player-grade instrument. Built with 5-piece maple/walnut construction, this neck features a bound, 24-fret Bird’s Eye maple fretboard. Topped with jumbo frets and Prestige fret edge treatment, the fingerboard also features black dot inlays, providing a canvas for fast playing.
The Prestige features a powerful combination of DiMarzio Air Norton and Tone Zone humbuckers. These pickups are hot enough to be considered high-output, but with considerably more dynamic range than most in that category. They deliver a classic humbucker tone, offering a versatile palette that excels in producing both thick rhythms and ripping leads.
A hallmark of the RG series, the original Ibanez Edge locking tremolo system is featured on this Prestige. Dating back to 1986, this legendary tremolo system has been favored by virtuosos like Joe Satriani and Steve Vai. With the Edge tremolo, pitch modulation can be enjoyed without the company of worry about tuning, thanks to Ibanez’s forward-thinking design.
