From unique builders Kauer, we’re excited to offer this Korona Standard. Like the Gripen, this instrument combines a unique aesthetic with functionality, durability and quality. A solid-bodied, offset style guitar featuring a Descendant Half Tele Bridge, and a beautiful Milano Maroon Firemist finish, this California classic reimagined boasts a ton of features that cater to the modern player, who wants to stand out visually as well as sonically.Â
Featuring an unusual Thermo Pine construction, the body of this Korona Standard makes it a standout without needing to play a note. It’s cut to a unique, offset silhouette, and features a striking pickguard to complement its color, while the rear of this guitar boasts a clear finish that allows beautiful grain of pine to be put on full display. The guitar’s roasted maple neck is carved to a medium C, and topped with a bound wenge fingerboard with a 12″ radius. The total scale length of this unique instrument is 25.5 inches, and the nut width is 1.65 inches, while the fingerboard also features 22 Medium Jumbo, frets that are “Plek’d”: fret dressing process that utilizes technology to ensure optimal fretboard geometry and playability.
Under its hood, this guitar is powered by two Lollar Jazzmaster P-90s, Jazzmaster-sized pickups that deliver the quintessential signature sound of our P-90s. The neck features Lollar’s Low Wind specifically crafted for the neck, and a High Wind for the bridge, both offering vintage-inspired tone.
In Kauer fashion, this guitar offers a dynamic amount of versatility and comes stocked a Descendant tremolo tailpiece, and a half-Tele ashtray style bridge with compensated saddles for precise string spacing and intonation.Â
