Langejans KGC-6 – Used
Langejans Guitars are handcrafted instruments made in Holland, Michigan, by the company’s namesake, Delwyn “Del” Langejans.
This KGC-6 model from Langejans is a grand concert-sized acoustic electric, featuring a natural gloss cedar top over koa back and sides, rosewood neck, ebony fretboard, and a two-way adjustable truss rod. Electronically, the KGC-6 is equipped with the LR Baggs Duet II system, which allows blending an internal microphone with an undersaddle pickup.
The guitar comes with an Ameritage Gold series case, which features a proprietary humidification control system.
Acoustically, the guitar is bright and vibrant – as koa should resonate. It’s 14″ radius allows incredibly smooth and slick playability up and down the neck. Plugged in, the Baggs system emphasizes the guitar’s percussive qualities and touch sensitivity – especially when blending in the internal microphone. Phase cancellation, a three-band EQ, and a master on/off for the system round out the electronics complement.
As an independent builder, Langejans produced just over 1,200 instruments, from steel and nylon string guitars to banjos and harp guitars. He still performs repair work on his pieces, but has retired from building new instruments in 2012.
