Martin 1998 HD-18JB Jimmy Buffett Signature #8 With OHSC – Used
Calling all “Parrot Heads”!
This 1998 HD-18JB Jimmy Buffet Signature has some prestige behind it. Originally the first ten HD-18JB’s were taken by Jimmy to give out to his band. This one (#8) was given to Greg “Fingers” Taylor, Jimmy Buffett’s harmonica player in which he then lost in a divorce from his then wife. This guitar was then put up for sale on eBay by Taylor’s ex wife back in 2013. Conversations and transcripts from eBay back in 2013 explaining the origin of the guitar come with this HD-18JB.
The Herringbone trim on this guitar is gorgeous and really pops. The combination of solid mahogany and Sitka spruce and shifted forward X bracing really makes this guitar shine. The best way to describe the sound of the guitar is precise, clear and loud. It is one of the nicest guitars we have had the pleasure of playing.
This guitar is in very good condition for its age. The bridge needed to be reglued when it came in to the shop and was done so by our expert luthiers. There are few dings and dents throughout the body from regular play wear.
