Martin Custom Shop Cherry Hill 000 14-Fret Acoustic Guitar, Spruce Top, Cherry Back/Sides
The Martin Custom Shop Cherry Hill 000 14-Fret Acoustic Guitar is a unique offering culminating a period of 1800s Martin Guitars. In 1839, Christian Martin (the first!) relocated from Manhattan, NY to Cherry Hill, PA. This move would bring a great significance to Martin as a company over the past two centuries, rooting Martin as we know it in Pennsylvania. The current Nazareth, PA factory is only a half mile from C.F. Martin I’s original Cherry Hill location.
Possibly this Custom Shop Martin’s most standout unique feature is in its Cherry back and sides construction. Cherry is an American hardwood with tonal and visual properties similar to Mahogany. While we may never know if Washington chopped down that cherry tree, we do know that Martin has done so a time or two!
Other key features of this Custom Shop Martin Cherry Hill 000 are a Spruce top with Aging Toner Gloss finish and Scalloped X-bracing under the hood, Satin finish neck with Martin’s High Performance Taper, Ebony fingerboard with Martin’s elegant yet understated Diamond and Squares inlay, Nickel Open Gear tuning machines, and Tortoise pattern pickguard
The Custom Shop Cherry Hill 000 14-fret comes with a Martin Hardshell Case and receives a factory setup with Martin Authentic Acoustic Lifespan light gauge strings. This guitar is a representation of a significant chapter in Martin’s history as a company, and is eloquently presented in this, the Martin Custom Shop Cherry Hill 000 14-Fret acoustic guitar.
