Martin Custom Shop “D” Dreadnought 14-Fret 18 Style, Flamed Koa Top, Back, and Sides
This Martin Custom Shop “D” Dreadnought 14-Fret 18 Style acoustic guitar pays homage to the historic 18 Style, with a body built entirely from flame koa. The top, back, and sides conspire to create a beautiful work of woodgrain art that immediately makes this guitar captivating, without even hearing it play.
Under the koa, Sitka Spruce bracing – the backbone of this instrument – works to support the structural integrity of this Dreadnought while allowing for Martin-style projection of its top wood. Decked out in European Flamed Maple binding, and a Style 45 Black Maple Fiber rosette, this dreadnought is more than just a musical instrument; it’s also a visual work of art. The Genuine Mahogany neck, with a Modified Low Oval profile and a High-Performance Taper, makes for a comfortable and familiar Martin fretting experience, all hosting a black ebony fretboard complemented by the Foden Style inlays. With 20 frets in total, 14 of which clear the body, this neck-fingerboard marriage is a match made in heaven.
A classy gloss body with a satin neck finish adds the final touch of elegance, creating a smooth and inviting playing surface, while also allowing the beautioful gran of the koa tonewood to take center stage, visually speaking. To keep this guitar safe, it comes in a 3-ply, domed top custom hardshell case.
