Martin D-15M Mahogany – Burst
The Martin D-15M dreadnought acoustic guitar sports a solid mahogany top, back, and sides with a satin finish. The result is reminiscent of depression era workhorse guitars with a tone to match. This “no-frills” design focuses on materials and construction paired with minimal adornment.
The D-15M Burst, constructed with genuine mahogany top, back, sides and neck, is accented with beautifully toned pre-war mahogany top shading.
5/16” solid Sitka spruce bracing supports the construction with the legendary X-Brace pattern. The mahogany neck is joined at the 14th fret to the body with Martin’s “Simple Dovetail” mortise and tenon design. Martin’s standard 16” radius fingerboard is lightly adorned with the short diamonds and squares pattern in abalone. Neck profile is the comfortable modified low oval.
Mahogany topped guitars have a sound all their own, different from the more common spruce topped acoustic guitars. Mahogany tends to have less overtones, clear articulation, and an overall warm sound. Like spruce and cedar topped solid acoustic guitars, they break in over time, becoming richer through years.
The D15M comes with a hardshell Martin case, and of course, Martin Guitars’ limited lifetime warranty.
