PRS McCarty 594 Hollowbody II Custom Color Electric Guitar, Trampas Green With Black Sides
In the 1980s, Paul Reed Smith called on the legendary Ted McCarty to advise him in his craft. McCarty became a close mentor and friend of Smith along with everyone at PRS at the time. The original PRS McCarty was first released in 1994 in tribute to the iconic guitar builder. Today’s PRS McCarty 594 builds upon the features of the PRS Hollowbody II. Carved figured maple top and back woods meet a mahogany middle body wood for a resonant hollow tone. This body is paired with a mahogany neck matched with a rosewood fingerboard. Featuring twenty-two seamless frets with PRS Birds inlays, this is an authentic PRS creation in hand.
Tonally, this McCarty model comes alive with two TCI (tuning capacitance and inductance) processed 58/15 LT humbucking pickups. Powerful, slick, and nuanced, these pickups harness all the smooth PRS kick that made the name famous. Push/pull tone controls adjust the humbucking tone to tap into single-coil tones that only add onto the full experience. A PRS two-piece bridge and vintage-style tuners solidify the playing experience of this guitar to make for an instrument with an expressive voice and solid intonation.
An honorable tribute to the great Ted McCarty, this PRS creation embodies all the skillful craftsmanship and musicality Smith and McCarty both stand for.
